FRCC Quilt Exhibit

A quilt exhibit will make its way to Four Rivers Cultural Center for a two-day event in April.  See vintage, contemporary and modern quilts on display.

The free event will occur on Thursday, April 26th  and Friday the 27th from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Local Citizens are welcome to enter their quilts for judging, a Quilt raffle, demonstrations, classes and a chance to help a cause, all are welcomed to attend the free event.  On display will be quilts from many local quilters.

Interested quilt makers are encouraged to enter a quilt to win one of three prizes available (Beginner Quilter, Fan Favorite Best of Show), and doing so is free. CALL 541 889 8203 to sign up to exhibit your quilt.  The deadline is April 20 to sign up.

 

 

Oregon Quilt Project will be on site as the group of volunteers work towards their mission to survey, record, preserve and share the stories of Oregon quilts and their makers. For $10. You can have your quilt registered within the state of Oregon.  These ladies will be available to document.  They will be here on Thursday only from 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM.

The Boise Guild will have a build a block program where you can come make a square for a quilt.  The squares will be pieced together to make quilts for children charities.

Also on site will be Boise Basin Quilt Guild who will be working towards making quilts for charity which will be donated to the Department of Human Service and are to be used in DHS’s visitation rooms and distributed to children. Everyone is welcomed to stop by and help build a block for the blankets which will be donated.

Throughout the two-day event, local quilting organizations including Marilyn’s Picket and Patchwork from Nyssa will host demonstrations and visitors can roam about to take a peek at the quilt entries and vote on their favorites.
