Session #2 Cooking 104: September 8 and November 10
Good Food, Good Life
Cooking Classes Hosted and Taught by Bob Komoto

Not so long ago Americans cooked out of necessity.  We prepared local foods and ate with the seasons.  Ideally, food was nutritious, hearty fare that fueled you for the work at hand.  Really special meals were saved for holidays and celebrations.

With so much packaged food and instant dining, we have lost touch with the idea of celebratory foods.  If we practice dietary moderation in our daily cuisine, then cooking and eating a bit outrageously to celebrate special occasions and holidays becomes a guilty pleasure; not a guilt trip.

Bob Komoto will be your instructor.  He considers himself to be an amateur chef, but he is known around the valley for his unbelievable cooking and extraordinary meals.  We consider him an expert and he is a great instructor – Patient, kind and helpful.

In this cooking series we will prepare menus that reflect the basics.  You will learn about the best cooking tools and you will make some extraordinary dishes.   The recipes are designed to teach culinary skills you can use in lots of different ways.  Students need some cooking experience. However, enthusiasm, love of good food, and willingness to spend time preparing meals for friends and family are the most important prerequisites.
