Voices through Art- Inmates at SRCI Exhibit

Voice Through Art- SRCI Exhibit

April 6th- May 25th

6:00 PM- 9:00 PM

Come to our next gallery opening titled “You think you know me, but this is who I really am”, April 6th at 6:00 PM in the Harano Gallery. You might be surprised by the talent, beauty, and COMPASSION this group of inmate artists are producing.

Hear from special guest Dickens Anyati, who has traveled all the way from Uganda to speak to our community! Dickens is the Administrator at Otino Waa Children’s Village. He has lived in northern Uganda all his life and experienced the tragic history of the Lord’s Resistance Army (rebel) group that ravaged the country for 20+ years. He was instrumental in securing the safety of the 78 children from the grasp of the rebels, who then became the first residents of Otino Waa in 2003.

Learn about how Visions of Hope is connecting these two groups and enjoy some tasty eats and refreshments provided by our own Second and Vine Bistro.

Do you know inmates at Snake River Correctional Institution are helping save orphans that are 9,000 miles away? Through an amazing inmate led art group that partners with a nonprofit–Visions of Hope–a life-altering program has emerged which benefits both the orphans and the inmates.
