Did You Know? This composite painting was done by Howard Ikemoto, a Japanese-American painter who was sent to live in the Tule Lake internment camp with his family during WW2, from 1942 to 1946. Ikemoto has said that he used painting as a way to deal with those dark times, “art provided him with a means of communication”
