Four Rivers Cultural Center will open its museum doors free of charge on Saturday, April 4, along with over 1,500 other participating venues for the 16th annual Museum Day Live!

Inclusive by design, Museum Day Live! fulfills Smithsonian Media’s mission to make cultural education accessible to everyone. For one day only, the Cultural Center will grant free access to visitors who download a Museum Day Live! ticket at Smithsonian.com. Last year’s event drew over 350,000 museum-goers, and this year’s Museum Day Live! is expected to attract close to 400,000 participants.

“Our museum is world-class and it really helps our citizens to understand their heritage and instills pride in all the cultures featured here,” said Matt Stringer, Executive Director.  “We want to encourage all citizens to come to visit. This is a great day to celebrate what we have.”

The museum gathers within its’ walls the wonders of more than a century of history. The museum exhibits trace the settlement patterns of the Northern Paiutes, Basque, Japanese, Hispanic, and EuroAmerican immigrants.  The visitor’s exhibit tour begins with an educational film designed to provide a historical context to the exhibit gallery.
