Come See “Oregon: A History of Barriers & Structural Racism” Exhibit

Delve into history with “Oregon: A History of Barriers & Structural Racism”, an exhibit that focuses on racism and discrimination and how it has played a part in Oregon’s history.
The exhibit highlights a number of exclusion laws from the 1800s to 2000s, including an 1843 Oregon law requiring slaveholders to free their slaves but forced African-Americans to leave the state. Moreover, the exhibit focuses on laws impacting a variety of populations, including Japanese-Americans, Mexican-Americans, and Chinese people.
The opening of the exhibit is Feb. 1 from 6 to 8 p.m. with refreshments available.
