In collaboration with Friends of the Owyhee, we are excited to offer the “Yoga in the Wild Owyhee” series.
This is perfect for friends that love to hike and want a grounding outdoor experience with an incredible view of wild land. We welcome everyone ages 12 and up. While no yoga experience is needed, some hiking experience is recommended.
We will meet along the Owyhee River at the Watchable Wildlife Area near Snively Hot Springs. We will spend about 90 minutes hiking to our destination (more details on the hike below), then enjoy a 90 minute yoga and meditation practice at the top.
Please bring your own reusable water bottle to keep hydrated, we recommend at least 2 liters. Light snacks will be provided after the practice before we hike back to the meeting location. If you have special dietary restrictions, please bring your own snacks.
Our finish time is an estimate that depends largely on the group who attends.
Each hike is rated moderate to difficult, with some steep gradients but minimal rock scrambling. We recommend hiking experience and some conditioning, though we will take the route slow and remain as a group. See map or contact Friends of the Owyhee for more details. Note that these are not hiking trails, but routes. There are no markers and rarely a path, but Sammy knows the way!
