FRCC and community partners are gearing up for another “More Vibrant Together” Distribution this Saturday, April 18th, to help meet the demand for masks and supplies. This is for anyone in need. We will be doing a drive-thru style distribution to supply our community. You can pick up cloth masks, care kits, and PB&J sandwiches starting at noon until 2pm (or until supplies last) in the front parking lot of The Cultural Center. We invite you to help spread the word. Like many local and national efforts, the Saturday distribution is created by the helping hands of the community for the benefit of the community.

“Together we can do extraordinary things to take care of one another,” Matt Stringer, executive director of the Cultural Center, said. “Especially taking care of those who may not be in a position to do so, whether it’s because of finances, inaccessibility to out-of-stock supplies, etc.”

Those interested in the Saturday distribution will be given the option of collecting 3 items: a cloth mask, care kit, and a PB&J sandwich. This means that no one is required to take all 3 items, rather, take what is needed.

Care kits will include personal hygiene products, such as toothpaste, soap, shampoo, floss, etc. Many of these items are donated by the Ontario Community Church and the Four Rivers Cultural Center.

The cloth masks are generously donated by Sarah Ray, and her mother, Marie Hansen Groberg with their “Mask Ontario Save Our City” grassroots effort. As of now, the group is donating 100 masks for this weekend’s distribution. So as to distribute as many masks as possible, there is a maximum of 4 masks per vehicle. Additional masks were also donated by the Ontario Community Church.

The Cultural Center is also partnering with Matsy’s Restaurant to be able to hand out a simple but classic snack: a PB&J sandwich. All sandwiches are donated by Matsy’s Restaurant.

“I’ll always believe that we are more vibrant together; it’s one of the core beliefs of the Cultural Center, and that’s because this organization is a direct reflection of the region we live in,” Stringer said. “For years, this magnificent community has bounded together to thrive; it’s what’s most special of our history.”

The Cultural Center recommends following all guidelines put forth by the CDC, and in effort of practicing social distancing, asks that 1 person per household visits on Saturday. This is a drive-thru-style pick up and driving instructions will be set up.
