Chicano Art Exhibit Opening

“Our struggle to be seen in the in-between space. Paintings of a people who history painted out.”

December 3 Opening
5pm-8pm

Here at the Four Rivers Cultural Center, we believe in the transformative power of art and culture. That’s why we continue to offer FREE year-round programming to our community and it’s why we’re excited to bring local Chicano artist Eddie Melendrez to present his work right here in our Harano Gallery on December 3 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. The exhibit will be on display through January 28th.

Join us in the Harano Gallery from 5:00 t0 8:00 p.m. for light refreshments and a unique art series of acrylics and oils on canvas. Get inspired and reconnect! The exhibit, titled, “Our struggle to be seen in the in-between space. Paintings of a people who history painted out,” is meant to engage viewers with personal histories, heritage, and leave you feeling empowered with a sense of self, and place. Melendrez hopes to create a gracious space, using his art as a way to create discussion and explore the Mexican and Indigenous communities.
