Structural Racism Exhibit

Open for display Monday, March 7
Closes: Saturday, April 26th

Delve into history with “Oregon: A History of Barriers & Structural Racism”, an exhibit that focuses on racism and discrimination and how it has played a part in Oregon’s history.

The exhibit highlights a number of exclusion laws from the 1800s to the 2000s, including an 1843 Oregon law requiring slaveholders to free their slaves but forcing African Americans to leave the state. Moreover, the exhibit focuses on laws impacting a variety of populations, including Japanese Americans, Mexican Americans, and Chinese people.
